As  Mentor, Teacher, Freelance 'Artist' & Mother of two adult children, I have a wide-ranging experience in both the private and public service sector.  

In 1989, after leaving the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, I pursued a successful career as a classical actor in theatre, alongside many dramatic roles for screen, working under my stage name Victoria Scarborough (www.victoriascarborough.co.uk). I fell in love with the Brazilian martial art, Capoeira, and from the early 2000s began to teach it, travelling to Brazil and attempting to learn Portuguese. After my second child, and working closer to home in Sussex, with a passion for cycling I qualified as a cycling & maintenance instructor, mentoring primary school children & mums in and around Sussex. Going back to University in my 40s, whilst rearing both children, I achieved a 1st Class Honours in English Literature and Creative Writing, as well as a Post-Graduate Degree in Learning & Teaching (never to be repeated!) Since 2013, I have been teaching UG and PG film students as well as maintaining my freelance life as actor, writer, director.

Alongside my busy working life, I find fulfillment by swimming, cycling, walking -  and across the last 5 years have developed a keen interest in reading more about the nature of consciousness relative to the imagination; the inner narrative voice; persona; and 'who' or 'what' we think we are. On a practical level, I have been exploring the ‘trending’ world of plant medicines; the light and the dark of the medicines themselves; and, more importantly, the uncharted territories regarding the ‘set & settings’ of the people administering such services & potentially life-changing experiences.

Having moved from London, I have lived in Brighton since 2007 and am passionate about the diasporic and multicultural city, its wonderful culture & history, as well as its wide-ranging, far-reaching population living within and around it.
